Commercial assignment
I love the variety of commercial photography jobs, and here’s a shot from some work I did this week for Bedfordshire Growers in Biggleswade. Fruit and veg make great images, as there’s loads of colour. 🙂
Retro portrait at Sywell Aerodrome
Here’s a photo I took as part of an aviation commission at Sywell Aerodrome. I love the chance to combine my passion for aviation with my portrait skills. 🙂
Some sepia fun with an air to air image
Here’s an air-to-air shot I took last week of the Shuttleworth Collection Bristol F2b Fighter. I’ve applied a vintage sepia effect, as this WWI fighter suits the look! 🙂
More studio sessions
I’ve been really busy the last few weeks, with a broad mix of portraits, aviation and commercial work. Here’s a shot taken a few weeks back that I quite like. I use a bleach bypass effect on a lot of my portrait work, as it’s great for a more modern look.
Sloooooow shutter speeds
I love being creative with slow shutter speeds when photographing aircraft, as you get a real feel for the speed.
First Birthday studio photo session
I had some fun shooting this little chap for his first birthday the other week. This type of image works so well on a canvas, with the simple composition and bleached colours.
Fun portrait sessions for Easter!
These guys had fun in my studio the other day. The boys were initially quite nervous, but I used my people skills to get them involved and had them giggling within a short period of time. It’s often the biggest challenge of portraits, when trying to get children relaxed. I have a secret weapon in the form of Monkey ( a little soft toy, that my daughter has loaned me), who has a mind of his own on photo sessions! 🙂
Easter Egg hunt at Northill
I’m not sure who had the most fun at the Northill School Easter egg hunt yesterday! The parents or the children? 🙂
A day out in Birmingham – NEC!
I spent the day at The Photography Show in Birmingham yesterday. It’s an annual show that allows photographers to check out the latest gear, but also to see a range of new products. I’ve found a couple of interesting items that I may consider adding to my range, including a rather nice Acrylic frame. I also met up with a lot of my old friends from the photographic industry, which was rather nice. 🙂
Eclipse 2015 viewed from Bedfordshire
Here’s a selection of images I captured during the eclipse over the UK this morning. Thankfully, the clouds were just right to diffuse the light and add some atmosphere to the images.
